In Municipality of Palilula-Nis, the best pupils and students who are studying in educational institutions in the municipality, according to tradition, will be represented in the photo calendars for the year 2014. This is the sixth year in a row that Palilula promotes the best pupils and students - said Boban Džunić, Mayor of Municipality. We wish to pay tribute to the achievements of education and draw public attention to their success. They are the generation that is expected to improve the quality and standard of life in our community in the future. Our Youth Office of Palilula regularly monitors the interests and needs of young people and includes them in the realization of projects of municipalities, said president Džunić .

HOW TO IMPROVE MARKET SERVICE IN MUNICIPALITY OF PALILULA

Development of adequate markets in the "Ledena Stena", "Novo Selo" and other areas of Palilula in accordance with the actual needs, capacities and adopted planning documents, in the next period would significantly improve the supply citizens with basic food and consumer goods. This was rated at the work meeting of the President of Palilula Boban Dzunic with the management of JKP "TRZNICA" Niš. Improving the quality of market services and encouragement for the development and promotion of healthy food and agriculture products in our community, is one of the strategic goals contained in the Action Programme for the Development of Palilula 2016, said Boban Džunić, president of Palilula Municipality, talking to Radovan Milojević, director of  JKP "TRZNICA" Niš. That is why Palilula is interested that in this area the current situation should be examined and improved.

DIVISION OF HUMANITARIAN PACKAGES STARTED

Distribution of aid packages to the socially vulnerable population in the rural area of ​​the City Municipality of Palilula, began as announced in the village of Cokot and on the same day in the Gornje Medjurovo. 638 families in 16 villages of the municipality of Palilula will be included in this action of division of groceries, which will last until the end of November. The selection of beneficiaries of this aid, who signed the ad, according to Boban Dzunic, president of Municipality of Palilula, were determined on the basis of merit of the Red Cross in Nis and proposals of the Citizens Council. A large number of residents of Palilula is on the verge of poverty.

EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN FROM MARGINALIZED GROUPS

Representatives of UNICEF and the Japanese government delegation visited the elementary school "Desanka Maksimovic" in Cokot - Palilula Municipality Niš (Tuesday, 12 November ) in order to learn about good practice, which is present in the educational system of Serbia. The host of this event, Ljiljana Radovanovic Tosic, principal of the school "Desanka Maksimovic" in Cokot, expressed great satisfaction that this conversation and visit took place at the school, which last year received the highest educational award "St. Sava Award",  for outstanding results and contribute to the development of education in Serbia. Our school "Desanka Maksimovć", said the principal, is already ninety years old and is currently attended by approximately 920 children. Students and teachers of the school, with the usage of the appropriate pedagogical methods, are the example of successfull work.

ACHIEVING BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PERSONS WITH DISSABILITIES

Within the framework of cooperation with civil society organizations, the president of City Municipality of Palilula, Boban Džunić, received the management team of the association "Action and assistance", that is committed to the realization of human rights and freedoms, and citizen involvement in community activities. Slađan Vuckovic, President of the Association, Jelena Djukic Pejic, responsible for public relations, and Sasa Djordjevic, Project Coordinator, met with the president of municipality within the project supported by the organization Handicap International Belgium, relating to the empowerment of people with disabilities, in order to achieve their rights and quality of life within their communities.

CITIZENS COUNCILS OF MUNICIPALITY OF PALILULA IN HUMANITARIAN MISSION

Palilula Municipality of Nis, provided about 8 cubic meters of firewood to vulnerable families in the village of Pasi Poljana, within the socio-humanitarian activities and cooperation with "Gorica". In the presence of Ivica Stojanovic, member of Palilula municipal council, Milivoje Milic, president of the citizens council of the village Pasi Poljana, presented the first amount of firewood to Stojan Dimitrijevic, and three other families will also receive aid, one of which is from the Roma minority group. There is activity of the Council in progress to collect data on the most vulnerable households in the village, in order that the Red Cross could provide humanitarian packages with basic food.

DIVISION OF HUMANITARIAN PACKAGES ONLY ACCORDING TO CRITERIA

Irregularities and abuses in the distribution of social aid packages to vulnerable residents in the rural area of Nis, in some municipalities, prompted the president of municipality of Palilula, Boban Dzunic, to hold a meeting with the presidents of the Citizens Council of 15 villages in the Palilula Municipality. In the presence of Stojan Prokopović, Secretary of Red Cross in Nis, representatives of the Councils of these settlements are introduced with the criteria that interested people should meet to be eligible for humanitarian assistance. In the next seven days, lists of vulnerable municipality residents will be completed and submitted to the Red Cross, and the division of packages is expected at 19th of November.

MEMORIAL TO VICTIMS AT BULGARIAN CEMETERY IN NIS

His excellency, Mr. Angel Dimitrov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Serbia, Consul General of Consulate General of Bulgaria in Nis, Atanas V.Krastin and president of Municipality of Palilula Boban Džunić, in the presence of delegations from Bulgarian nationalities residing in Nis, on the occasion of the memorial of St. Archangel Michael (Archangel Day), laid wreaths at the memorial to members of the Bulgarian armed forces who died in world War II during the liberation of Niš from occupying forces. And on this occasion, Ambassador of Bulgaria and Chairman of Palilula Municipality discussed the possibilities of maintenance and organization of a memorial complex in Nis, and cooperation with municipalities in Bulgaria under the cross-border cooperation supported by the European Union.
